This value defines the number of seconds the router waits before trying to reestablish the VPN tunnel after a failed connection attempt. The backoff time helps prevent branch offices in VPN branch networking scenarios from overloading the headquarters with aggressive reconnection attempts in certain situations.
The minimum configurable value is 30 seconds. The router modifies the configured value by a random offset of ±10 seconds to achieve some distribution among the branches. For example, if a time of 70 seconds is configured, reconnection attempts will occur randomly between 60 and 80 seconds.
