PON

This menu contains the settings for the PON (Passive Optical Network) interfaces.

GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) is an optical transmission standard for fiber optic connections (FTTH). R&S®NC offers GPON SFP modules for this purpose, which are available in R&S®NC routers with SFP interface. The list of compatible devices can be found in the respective GPON SFP data sheet.

With a GPON module, the R&S®NC router can be operated directly on the fiber optic connection of the provider without a separate modem. Please contact your provider if operation without modem and with SFP module is supported. Usually GPON modems are authenticated by serial number and/or GPON password, so operation without provider support is not possible.
