PPPoE sessions can be accepted on a LAN interface in the following ways:
- Untagged PPPoE sessions (without VLAN)
- Tagged PPPoE sessions (with VLAN)
- Double-tagged PPPoE session (Q-in-Q / 802.1ad, configurable, e.g., Ethertype 0x8100 or 0x88a8)
The Ethertype for VLANs (C-VLAN / S-VLAN) can be configured under using the options VLAN protocol ID and S-VLAN protocol ID.
For PPPoE sessions over VLAN, PPPoE interfaces with the corresponding VLAN are created automatically at runtime and do not need to be configured statically.
