Aachen, July 4, 2019—The German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems and the Munich-based technology group Rohde & Schwarz continue to push the development of integrated network and security offerings. Effective July 1, the firewall division of the IT security company Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity will operate under the umbrella of LANCOM Systems. Preceding this the two subsidiaries cooperated closely in the area of development laying the foundation for the new LANCOM security division.

With the transfer of the firewall business to LANCOM now completed, the merger of the solutions in the areas of networks, firewalls and UTM (Unified Threat Management) will be accelerated even further. The goal in the medium term is to introduce a highly integrated network and security portfolio with conventional network and firewall solutions along with innovative cloud offerings based on state-of-the-art software-defined networking (SDN) technologies.

This is how LANCOM answers the growing demand for integrated network and security offerings that help end users to effectively protect themselves against the ever increasing cyber risks while minimizing the complexity of their systems.

Solutions, service & support from one source

Along with product development and marketing, the service and technical support for the R&S®Unified Firewalls are transferring completely to LANCOM. Partners and customers benefit from a central point of contact for the entire WAN, LAN and WLAN portfolio, for UTM, and for LANCOM SDN solutions based on the LANCOM Management Cloud (SD-WAN, SD-LAN, SD-WLAN). In the short term, firewall management will also be integrated into the cloud. LANCOM is thus further developing its hyper-integrated network management solution to include software-defined security (SD-Security).

“Integrating the firewall division into LANCOM opens up great prospects in a rapidly growing market,” says LANCOM founder and Managing Director Ralf Koenzen. “The end result is a unique package of professional network and security solutions ‘Made in Germany’ that unites the profound expertise of two established specialists.”

All components of the overall portfolio bear the trust mark “IT Security Made in Germany” and are guaranteed backdoor-free. They are available through distributors and specialist resellers.
