Aachen, November 14, 2017—The network manufacturer LANCOM Systems based in Würselen, Germany was presented two prestigious corporate awards yesterday evening. As part of the Technology Fast 50 Awards 2017 in Munich, the auditors Deloitte awarded LANCOM the “Sustained Excellence Award” for sustainable, outstanding growth. At the same time in Düsseldorf, the Economy Minister of North Rhine Westphalia, Andreas Pinkwart, presented LANCOM the NRW Digital Economy Award. The DWNRW Award is given to companies making trend-setting contributions to the digital transformation.

Deloitte Fast 50: Sustainable growth and innovation

This is the fifteenth time that Deloitte, with their Technology Fast 50, has presented awards to the growth leaders in the technology industry. The award in the category “Sustained Excellence” is presented to companies that grow particularly sustainably and whose innovative services have helped them achieve above-average success in the market over the long term. The award was accepted by the LANCOM Systems managing partners Ralf Koenzen and Stefan Herrlich at a gala event in Munich.

This is the second time that LANCOM has won the award: Back in 2015 the network manufacturer previously impressed with its innovation and strong growth. Since its foundation in 2002, LANCOM has achieved an average annual growth of 14% and today employs more than 300 people, most of them at its headquarters in Würselen. New development facilities were opened in Karlsruhe, Germany, in October to meet the increasing demand for expertise in research and development.

DWNRW Award: Impulses for the digital transformation

Since 2014, the NRW Digital Economy Award has been presented to North Rhine-Westphalia-based companies who take a trend-setting approach to digitalization with innovative business ideas, products or working methods.

As award winner in the “Corporation” category, LANCOM convinced the jury with a completely new approach to networking in business, one that balances the growing complexity of digital infrastructures and the need for greater flexibility, on the one hand, with the shortage of skilled workers on the other.

Instead of manually configuring and managing networks with the help of IT experts, LANCOM automates these processes using the latest software-defined networking technologies based in the Cloud. For the first time, networks now offer the necessary agility to support a sustainable digital transformation in the private and public sectors.

At the DWNRW Summit in Düsseldorf, the award was presented by NRW Economy Minister Andreas Pinkwart to Christian Schallenberg, a member of the LANCOM Management Board.
