Efficient troubleshooting with extended monitoring functionalities
(August 13th, 2018)

Problems in the network? With the extended monitoring functionalities you can now examine them even more precisely and more intuitively: Simply draw and select with the mouse cursor the desired spot in the history graphs for zooming in. From the individual device monitoring you can also retrieve the time span under examination (e.g. Friday evening to Monday morning) from the new user-defined time span selection. This way you keep in control of everything that happened in your network up to one week in the past.

Focus your project
(June 18th, 2018)

Do you focus exclusively on particular LANCOM products? For example, you operate Wi-Fi compo-nents only? Then you can focus your project in the LANCOM Management Cloud exclusively on this group of products. You activate only those subareas of the software-defined applications that you need for that particular project. There is no need to enter unnecessary information, such as the VPN configuration.

Automated VPN configuration for redundant central-site VPN gateways
(May 8th, 2018)

dropdown menue

Multi-site VPN infrastructures at numerous different locations demand that the central site offers supremely stable networks and high bandwidths. Consequently, one central VPN gateway alone is often not enough: If a gateway fails, all network activity goes down with it. This makes it well worthwhile to use not just one central VPN gateway, but several of them in a cluster. In conventional networks, adding one more gateway means that IT admins face twice the effort to configure the VPN tunnels on all of the deployed devices. The LANCOM Management Cloud enables you to create multiple, redundant central-site VPN gateways with just a few clicks. Thanks to SD-WAN, the otherwise extremely time-consuming configuration and rollout of the VPN tunnels between all of the VPN endpoints is now completely automatic.

Monitoring tools
(March 20th, 2018)

Those who set up complex networks with feature-rich Hardware really need one thing: clear and quickly available information. A look should suffice to make sure that all devices work exactly the way you want.

In the LANCOM Management Cloud, you can find useful tables that provide you with clear and simple information, without any complex queries, to any desired device. For example, you can view tables of WAN links, DHCP clients, and services used, in the monitoring interface of your devices (e.g. SSH, HTTP, SNMPv2).

LMC Config Sync
(February 13th, 2018)

The LANCOM Management Cloud radically simplifies the work required to setup your overall network infrastructure. At the same time, you may need to carry out detailed configurations of individual devices by means of other configuration tools, such as LANconfig, WEBconfig or the CLI. This affects no end of situations; whether you are setting up a complex VoIP infrastructure by means of a LANconfig wizard, or a site-specific hotspot user management. These adjustments on the individual devices are now detected by the LANCOM Management Cloud. You can specify whether the LMC automatically adopts these configurations, detects and logs them, or immediately resets them on the device.

Wi-Fi Hotspot
(January 29th, 2018)

Guests, customers, and business partners want uncomplicated Wi-Fi access, but in reality they often have to go through a complicated registration procedure. On the other hand, there is an IT admin who wants to set up a secure WLAN network while creating an appealing login page. With the LANCOM Management Cloud, these tasks are easy as never before. Simple customizing makes your Wi-Fi hotspot unique – in seconds. Auto-trim will instantly upload your own images in the right format. See in the preview whether the login mask corresponds to your wishes and add individual welcome texts. The guest access can be securely separated from other networks at a mouse click. As hotspot access methods, a 1-click login as well as the authentication via username/password combination for all users are supported.

Link Layer Detection Protocol and SD-LAN
(November 29th, 2017)

For us, it as absolutely essential to develop practical tools that help you to streamline your workflow. So not only can switch ports be given a name manually, they can also be labeled fully automatically with the help of the Link Layer Detection Protocol. The LMC activates LLDP on every managed LANCOM access point, router, and switch and uses the information gained to label the switch ports automatically.

Another innovative implementation: With SD-LAN you distribute the desired networks globally to the specified ports on all of the switches in your project. With this basic VLAN configuration in place, you can then customize the settings for individual devices or entire projects. A graphic, colored representation of your networks is a further help. And you have the best possible overview as the devices connected to the ports are displayed in plain text. This functions can be reached via Project > Devices > “<Your device>” > Overview.

Custom fields – individualize your Cloud
(October 10th, 2017)

Clarity and easy operability are core characteristics of the LANCOM Management Cloud. Customers can specify their own, company-specific properties and use these to store custom information. Freely definable text fields optionally contain customer IDs, contact persons, project status, and much more. They can be specifically defined for an overview of the organization or for the various project views. You are the master of your cloud.

These settings are available under “Organization / Project”> “Management” > “Properties”.

More about the improvements and further information is available in ourRelease Notes.

Floor plans & location filters
(September 12th, 2017)

A great overview for convenient troubleshooting: Upload floor plans for your individual locations and you can position your devices for realistic results (“Locations > Floor plan”). You see an approximation of the signal coverage provided by the Wi-Fi devices, including channel load and reception quality (dashboard “Wi-Fi / LAN”). In an instant you will understand the coverage at your site and get an accurate impression of the load and quality of the wireless network. One useful feature: If necessary, you can instantly change the Wi-Fi channels used by the devices after positioning them. The dashboard also contains a location filter. This feature offers a drop-down menu in the map view, which filters the network information by location.

For more information about these and other innovations, see theRelease Notes.

Active Radio Control goes Cloud
(August 4th, 2017)

An important component for best possible LANCOM WLAN is our Active Radio Control (ARC), a Wi-Fi optimization concept that intelligently combines well-matched features to sustainably improve the performance of your wireless network. Two top ARC functions are now also available with the LANCOM Management Cloud:

Band Steering

Optimized load balancing throughout the Wi-Fi by actively redirecting clients to the less congested and higher performance 5-GHz frequency band

Adaptive RF Optimization

For improved Wi-Fi robustness by dynamically selecting the best Wi-Fi channel in an ever-changing radio field.

More about ARC and the other useful new features is available in the Release Notes.
