Aachen, July 06, 2022—The German network-infrastructure and security supplier LANCOM Systems further adds to its range of desktop firewalls. With an additional integrated LTE Advanced modem, the LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE operates as a backup for wired access or as a high-performance primary access with a WAN uplink via LTE. It offers top-class cybersecurity with an LTE modem for small companies, branches or home offices; this includes comprehensive Unified Threat Management (UTM) and the latest cybersecurity technologies such as sandboxing and machine learning. The LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE is available now from LANCOM specialist resellers.

The LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE offers the full range of functions of its bigger sisters: Powerful SSL inspection for encrypted data traffic, protection against highly complex APT cyber attacks through the integrated R&S®PACE2 deep packet inspection engine, the precise classification of network traffic, protocols and applications, as well as protection against data leakage and data loss (data loss prevention, DLP) up to layer 7. To protect against malware and viruses, including zero-day exploits, suspicious files are analyzed using machine learning in a shielded sandbox. The associated cloud service is hosted in Germany and complies with European data-protection regulations.

LCOS FX 10.8

The new LCOS FX 10.8 operating system provides significantly upgraded connection quality and protection of minors to all of the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls. Traffic Shaping is the highlight feature that enables links to be individually adjusted so that prioritized applications always meet high quality requirements. Furthermore, the extension of the content filter to support the website list of the German BPjM (“Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons”) is an additional protection for underage end users. This means that URLs with content that is officially classified as harmful cannot be accessed by the relevant target group. This list is guaranteed to be continually updated and extended.

Graphical user interface & cloud management

An intuitive graphical user interface offers transparency across all secured areas in the company and simplifies the implementation of company-wide security and compliance requirements. Further, the LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE uses a simple pairing process to connect to the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC). This enables transparent monitoring including alarms about the device status, and remote configuration from the cloud.

The LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE is available now at a price of EUR 999 (RRP) excluding VAT. A “Basic License” is required as a minimum to operate the firewall and receive software updates. The “Full License” activates the complete range of UTM functions. Licenses are available with terms of one, three or five years.

The LANCOM R&S® UF-60 LTE has a three-year warranty, with an optional extension to five years. Support is provided by the LANCOM Support Center. A detailed overview of the model range along with further information on the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewall family and a variety of expansion and service options are available here: www.lancom-systems.com/products/security/unified-firewalls/
