Silent powerhouse: New 8-port Gigabit PoE switch from LANCOM Systems

Aachen, October 30, 2013—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of professional network solutions, introduces the LANCOM GS 1108P, the successor to the successful ES 1108P.

This unmanaged 8-port Gigabit Ethernet switch features Power over Ethernet as per IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at, making it ideal for power-hungry devices such as dual-radio access points or pivoting security cameras. It provides a cumulative power consumption on all ports up to 60 watts to ensure that network components are reliably networked and powered. Thanks to its size, its quiet fan, and its rugged, non-slip metal housing, it is ideal for use in small offices and businesses, or home offices. PoE also offers a highly convenient power source for IP phones and WLAN access points.

The quality and reliability of professional networks depends heavily on the switches they employ. With this new Gigabit switch, LANCOM offers customers and sales partners a component that is fully compatible to the LANCOM product range in the familiar LANCOM quality. The status of the connections is clearly displayed on the front of the switch. The integrated power supply unit and the high degree of energy efficiency (inactive ports are switched off automatically) underscore the professional nature of this device.

An adapter for installation in 19" cabinets is supplied.

The LANCOM GS-1108P is available now.
