LANCOM Systems presents Wi-Fi solution for sophisticated interiors
Hotspot-enabled Wi-Fi access point in a purist elegant housing
Aachen, October 13, 2015—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of networking solutions for the commercial and public sectors, launches the LANCOM LN-830acn dual Wireless, a new access point that discreetly fits in with sophisticated interiors. A software option upgrades the access point to a high-performance hotspot for guests, and integration into the leading hotel ma¬¬nagement systems such as Micros Fidelio and protel is also possible.
The housing of the new LANCOM access point comes in a style that is low-key: The appealing matt white color, the antennas inside the housing and the logo etched into the surface help to integrate the device into modern hotel and conference environments so it fits in with any design. The LED lights are integrated discreetly and, if necessary, can be turned off completely. Finding the ideal place for the access point in the lobby, meeting room or hotel room is simple with this new model: A drilling template together with the four non-slip rubber feet on the housing allow for easy installation on the wall, ceiling, or any flat surface.
Whether it is concealed or displayed in the open, there is no need to worry this new model being stolen. With the help of the drilling template shipped with it, the optionally available anti-theft wall mount accommodates the access point, which simply clicks into it. In combination with a Kensington lock, anti-theft protection is assured.
High-performance guest Wi-Fi
In addition to these aesthetic and practical aspects, the LN-830acn access point meets a popular demand from hotels and restaurants: The ability to offer their guests fast Internet access via Wi-Fi. Installing the LANCOM Public Spot option upgrades the device to a powerful Wi-Fi hotspot.
The hotspot features a login portal that is flexibly programmable and adaptable to any corporate design. It is also possible to invoke a mandatory set of T&Cs. The login data is issued by a voucher or by means of an SMS-based self-registration. Accounting systems are easy to set up by using the FIAS interface to seamlessly integrate the solution into property management systems (PMS), such as Micros Fidelo or protel. If preferred, access can also be offered for free.
Like all Wi-Fi solutions from LANCOM, the LN-830acn supports separate networks for guests and staff and is equipped with an extensive range of security features, including full IEEE 802.11i with WPA2 and AES encryption, and IEEE 802.1X/EAP (WPA2 Enterprise).
