Aachen, May 7, 2018—“Rethinking networks: Automated. Software-defined. Hyper-integrated.” This is the motto for network manufacturer LANCOM Systems at this year's CEBIT from June 11 to 15 in Hanover. Visitors to the 120 square-meter booth in Hall 13 (C112) will experience at first hand how LANCOM’s all-round package of powerful hardware and cloud-based, Software-defined Networking (SDN) is getting corporate networks fit for digital transformation. Also on show: The latest in WAN, LAN and WLAN.

Static was yesterday, today is agile: In keeping with CEBIT's new image as “Europe's Business Festival for Innovation and Digitization”, LANCOM takes visitors into a world where networks use agile and highly automated technologies to adapt to the constantly growing and shifting demands of digitalization and digital transformation.

The basis for this is the LANCOM Management Cloud. With the world's first hyper-¬integrated network management solution for SD-¬WAN, SD-LAN and SD-WLAN, even complex networks are set up and administered with just a few clicks. Software-¬defined networking from the Cloud is replacing time-consuming manual configuration tasks and making human error a thing of the past. User companies benefit from maximum agility, greater security and significantly reduced operating costs.

WAN: New bandwidth & virtual routing for Hyper-V & Azure

With wide-area networking (WAN), LANCOM focuses on bandwidth and failover reliability: An ever increasing number of mission-critical applications and processes run on multi-site VPN tunnels and are demanding more of the WAN.

At CEBIT, LANCOM demonstrates how high-performance VPN routers and gateways ensure reliable, fail-safe connections. At the center of attention are the routers of the 1900-series with load balancing via VDSL, fiber optic (FTTB) or LTE-Advanced, along with the new LANCOM VPN gateway ISG-1000 offering Gigabit-IPSec performance. On exhibit for the first time in Hanover, the ISG-1000 serves as the central instance of high-performance VPN networks.

LANCOM is driving NFV (Network Function Virtualization) forward with their software-based LANCOM vRouter. The Hyper-V version of the vRouter securely terminates VPN tunnels in any data center. An innovation on exhibit for the first time is the LANCOM vRouter for Microsoft Azure. This gives companies secure encrypted access to their resources in the Microsoft Public Cloud.

Cloud-managed Wi-Fi for indoors and outdoors

In WLAN & switching, LANCOM plays on its strength as a full-range supplier: Be it in the office or outdoors, in digital factories, hotels or restaurants, or in education and health—LANCOM access points and switches ensure seamless networking in all areas.

LANCOM’s Wi-Fi flagships are the access points of the LN-1700-series featuring 802.11ac Wave 2 and top-end Gigabit bandwidths. The devices can either be used to set up wireless networks in the conventional manner with or without a WLAN controller, or they can operate via the LANCOM Management Cloud. In the latter case, they enable the fast, highly-automated setup of Cloud-managed wireless LANs by zero-touch deployment, i.e. without any manual configuration of the access points.

LANCOM also has a special offer for municipalities: Tailor-made Wi-Fi hotspot packages at attractive special rates, which are ideal for combination with the European WiFi4EU incentive program for establishing municipal Wi-Fi hotspots.

“CEBIT is and will remain the leading trade fair for digitalization and digital transformation,” says LANCOM founder and Managing Director Ralf Koenzen. “The new concept offers us the ideal setting to present our network innovations to a broader audience. We can hardly wait!”
