Aachen, February 19, 2019—The German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems further expands its range of central-site VPN gateways with the new LANCOM ISG-8000. The Integrated Services Gateway LANCOM ISG-8000 forms the secure, scalable basis for large and very large multi-service IP networks and connects up to 3,000 locations over highly secure IPsec VPN. When combined with the LANCOM Management Cloud, the ISG-8000 becomes a powerful SD-WAN gateway for enterprise infrastructures.

The ISG-8000 is the new flagship in the LANCOM enterprise VPN & SD-WAN portfolio. This newly developed high-performance gateway uses state-of-the-art encryption and redundancy concepts and it is the first to introduce High Scalability VPN (HSVPN), the next-generation SD-WAN technology. The ISG-8000 supports 250 VPN remote sites out of the box, and additional options provide connectivity to a total of up to 3,000 VPN remote sites.

At the heart of the network, this integrated services gateway features eight gigabit Ethernet ports and two USB ports to enable a wide range of applications. Its two SFP+ ports, each offering 10 gigabits, increase the capacity of data transfers to servers, network storage devices or switches. Two redundant power supplies ensure highest availability, and the front-mounted display constantly shows various device statistics such as temperature, CPU utilization and active VPN tunnels.

Powerful SD-WAN greatly simplifies the management of enterprise structures

In combination with the LANCOM Management Cloud, the LANCOM ISG-8000 becomes the basis for powerful SD-WAN infrastructures. Advantages come with the highly automated configuration of the entire network and the automatic rollout of the device configurations to all locations. The result is the economical installation of agile network infrastructures that benefit from central 24/7 monitoring. This saves up to 80 percent of the time to set up and manage a complex enterprise WAN. Further significant cost advantages come from replacing or supplementing cost-intensive MPLS links.

In high-performance networks that operate many services and move large volumes of data, the next-generation SD-WAN technology High Scalability VPN provides VPN architectures with maximum scalability and efficiency. Previously, each individual application needed its own individual VPN tunnel, whereas HSVPN now bundles any number of networks into a single tunnel for transporting the data to the remote site. Networks remain secure and strictly separated from one another. With the significantly reduced number of VPN remotes, recovery times in the event of a failover are cut to a minimum.

Security Made in Germany

The ISG-8000 is part of the LANCOM portfolio developed and manufactured in Germany for highly secure VPN site connectivity. The LANCOM Management Cloud is also hosted at data centers in Germany. As a holder of the “IT Security made in Germany” trust mark, LANCOM is committed to keeping its products free of secret backdoors. This makes LANCOM network solutions ideal for situations where the demands on IT security and data protection are highest and at all times in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

The LANCOM ISG-8000 is available now at a price of EUR 9,990 excluding VAT. Each 250 additional VPN tunnels cost an additional EUR 1,490 (excl. VAT).
