Aachen, June 02, 2020—German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems adds to its portfolio with a powerful new Wi-Fi 6 access point at an attractive price. With aggregated data rates of up to 1,775 Mbps, the LANCOM LW-600 is ideal for environments where small to medium numbers of users require high-throughput Wi-Fi. With its inconspicuous smoke detector design, it blends harmoniously into hotels, offices, medical practices or small schools. The device is managed either highly automatically from the LANCOM Management Cloud or with an intuitive web interface. It can also be managed by a WLAN controller.

The LANCOM LW-600 uses the latest wireless standard Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) to provide fast access to clients in the 2.4- and 5-GHz frequency bands. In dual-concurrent mode, it achieves aggregate data rates of up to 1,775 Mbps (up to 1,200 Mbps with 5 GHz and up to 575 Mbps with 2.4 GHz in parallel). Furthermore, genuine 2x2 multi-user MIMO distributes all of the available downlink and uplink spatial streams to several clients concurrently, rather than to one after the other. The available bandwidth is exploited to the full and delays in the wireless network are substantially reduced.

Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet as per IEEE 802.3af, meaning that the access point can be installed completely independently of power sockets. Alternatively, the LANCOM LW-600 can be supplied using the power adapter unit and country adapter shipped with it.

Versatile management and cloud-ready

The LANCOM LW-600 operates as a standalone unit or as managed from the cloud. When operating standalone, an intuitive web interface (WEBconfig) provides an ideal overview: Modern dashboards display the current Wi-Fi status and simplify the configuration of individual networks (SSIDs) and network keys. When managed with the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC), the device supports zero-touch deployment for fully automatic configuration by the software-defined networking (SDN). It can also operate with a WLAN controller or with a virtual controller in a LANCOM vRouter.

WPA3 and backdoor-free security

The LANCOM LW-600 features a range of integrated security features such as IEEE 802.1X (WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise), WPA3-Personal, IEEE 802.11i (WPA2-Personal), as well as the convenience of QR-code key sharing for new clients.

As the holder of the “IT Security made in Germany” trust mark, LANCOM has also committed to keeping its products free of secret backdoors. This means the LANCOM switches, access points, routers, firewalls and the LANCOM Management Cloud operate at all times in compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), even in sensitive environments.

Guaranteed updates & professional support

LANCOM regularly offers free updates for maximum investment protection. Major releases with new features, release updates with minor improvements and bug fixes are available not only for the entire product life cycle, but also for a period of two years after the product’s discontinuation. In many cases, critical security fixes and support go far beyond that.

Professional LANCOM support is fully available on the Internet. For special requirements, LANCOM offers a range of additional options including remote configuration or 24/7 help from our 3rd Level Support.

The LANCOM LW-600 with a 3-year warranty (5 years optional) is available now from LANCOM specialist resellers at a price of EUR 349 excl. VAT.
