LANCOM GS-3510XP: Fanless multi-gigabit Ethernet access switch with PoE

Aachen, December 21, 2020—The German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems expands its switch portfolio with the LANCOM GS-3510XP. The PoE-capable multi-gigabit switch is ideal for networks integrating high-performance components such as Wi-Fi 6 access points. It is optionally manageable via the cloud to support highly automated commissioning via SDN.

Modern Wi-Fi 6 access points offer high data throughput rates that require higher capacities on the LAN side. Equipped with four 2.5G and four 1G Ethernet ports as well as two 10G SFP+ uplink ports, it networks up to ten devices such as the Wi-Fi 6 access points LANCOM LX-6400 or LX-6402. Up to eight end devices can be connected via its PoE+ ports (IEEE 802.3at) and with an overall PoE budget of 130W, additional power supplies are not required. With a data throughput of 68 Gbps on the backplane, the LANCOM GS-3510XP has plenty in reserve even under load. The switch is cooled by passive components to ensure noiseless operation. This makes the GS-3510XP ideal for use in small to medium companies and home offices.

Configurable access control and security

The LANCOM GS-3510XP offers numerous security and management features: IEEE 802.1X, (port-, single-, multi- and MAC-based), access control lists (ACLs), as well as VLAN tagging as per IEEE 802.1q. Secure communication protocols such as SSH, SSL and SNMPv3 enable professional remote network management. The switch also supports TACACS+ for authentication, authorization and accounting. Dual-stack implementation allow the switch to operate in pure IPv4, pure IPv6, or mixed networks.

Static routing & DHCP server

In addition to the classical distribution functions of a switch, the LANCOM GS-3510XP can handle layer-3 tasks to offer, for example, a DHCP server or to define fixed network routes across one or more network segments. This relieves the load on the router or firewall, increases the speed of data exchange and frees up additional capacity for external data traffic.

High efficiency cloud management

The switch can be managed using the web GUI, from the command line, or optionally via the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC). In combination with the LMC, network administrators benefit from highly efficient cloud management by software-defined networking (SDN). All the necessary network configurations including VLANs are automatically assigned and coordinated across locations. With a click of the mouse, the rollout and updates are executed at the same time.

The LANCOM GS-3510XP is available now at a price of EUR 599 excluding VAT. The standard warranty lasts five years and covers all components. Further, the LANCOM Software Lifecycle Management also guarantees free security and feature updates

An optional 10G SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC10 costs EUR 329, the 10G-LX version EUR 379. A 1G LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 module is available for EUR 119, the LX variant LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 (1G) costs EUR 199. A LANCOM SFP-DAC10 1m cable costs EUR 109. The 1-Gbps copper module LANCOM SFP-CO1 is available for EUR 119, the 10-Gbps multi-gigabit Ethernet copper variant LANCOM SFP-CO10-MG costs EUR 129. (All prices excluding VAT).
