Aachen, November 2, 2021—The leading German network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems released an update to its software VPN client for MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, & Co. Version 4.6 of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS supports the current operating systems macOS 11 (Big Sur) and macOS 12 (Monterey) on Apple products with an Apple M1 chip or an Intel CPU. The VPN client enables full remote access to the company network via highly secure IPsec VPN on any Internet connection.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client provides employees with encrypted mobile access to the company network, whether they are at their home office, on the road, or even abroad. The application is very easy to use: After a one-time configuration of the VPN (Virtual Private Network) account, the secure VPN connection is established with just one click. Additional data protection comes with the support of all IPsec protocol extensions and other security features such as strong authentication by fingerprint, multi-certificate and IKEv2 support with IKEv2 redirect. The latter operates in multi-gateway environments to automatically redirect VPN clients to a different gateway for improved load balancing. The client can operate in compliance with FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard). The macOS keychain can be used as a certificate store.

Comprehensive support of IPv4/IPv6 and operating systems

The updated VPN client supports the two latest macOS versions and up to 250 split-tunnel networks with IPv4 and IPv6. It also allows local networks to be forwarded via the tunnel. Also optimized is the handling of DNS requests through the VPN tunnel or bypassing the tunnel during split tunneling.

The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS belongs to the Apple-compatible family of solutions from LANCOM: VPN routers, VPN gateways, and access points based on Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and, soon, Wi-Fi 6E. The LANCOM Advanced VPN Client is a universal tool providing connectivity to all IPsec-compliant routers and VPN gateways. It is available now for EUR 109.00 excl. VAT from specialist resellers.

Customers who activated a license for the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client 4.0 or who have a license that has not yet been activated, will receive the upgrade to the latest version free of charge. An upgrade version from older versions is available for EUR 64.00 (excl. VAT).

A free 30-day trial version is available for download from the LANCOM website:
