LANCOM GS-2326+: New fully managed 26-port Gigabit switch for medium-sized networks

Aachen, August 08, 2016—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of networking solutions for business customers and the public sector, extends its range of switches with a new professional device. The LANCOM GS-2326+ is a managed layer-2 switch featuring 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two TP/SFP combo ports. This switch is LANCOM's response to the needs of small to medium-sized enterprises with high demands on security, management, and being fit for the future.

The LANCOM GS-2326+ offers a 52-Gbps throughput and features such as Quality of Service, rapid spanning tree, port trunking, and bandwidth restriction. Minimum latency and Gigabit backbone connectivity make it the ideal switch for networks with high bandwidth requirements. Port-based IEEE 802.1X access control (single, multi, port-based and MAC-based) and TACACS+ authentication ensure maximum security. This extensive range of security features make this switch ideal for application in networks for processing payments by credit card and electronic cash (PCI DSS compliance).

The switch fully supports both IPv4 and IPv6 and therefore represents a future-proof platform for dual-stack mixed operation throughout the transitional period. Numerous applications such as SSL, SSH, Telnet, and TFTP operate even over IPv6 networks. Supported IPv6 features include stateless auto-configuration, the discovery of neighboring devices, and MLD snooping.

Offering up to 4000 simultaneous VLANs, the LANCOM GS-2326+ is also a solid basis for effective virtualization. Professional port prioritization enables the precise control of data traffic, such as for real-time video or voice applications.

Energy-saving switch with user-friendly management

Configuration and management of the switch are performed with a convenient web interface, by command line, with Telnet, or via the serial port (RS 232). Connections can be encrypted with SSH or HTTPS. Furthermore, the device seamlessly integrates into the LANCOM management tools LANconfig, LANmonitor and the LANCOM Large Scale Monitor (LSM), and it supports SNPv2 management thanks to its integrated MIB. Single IP management allows up to 16 switches to be managed at a single shared IP address.

The LANCOM GS-2326+ also provides a range of intelligent power-saving features. Unused ports are switched off automatically, the adjustment of power consumption is automatic, and the device needs no fan. As a result, the switch consumes considerably less energy than comparable models.

The LANCOM GS-2326+ is available now and comes with a 5-year warranty. The optional SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 and the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 are also available now.
