52 port Gigabit Switch GS-2352P with Power over Ethernet

LANCOM Systems offers new power-saving switch for

enterprise networks

Aachen, March 26, 2014—LANCOM Systems, the leading German manufacturer of network solutions for enterprise customers and the public sector, adds to its line of switches with a new professional device.

The LANCOM GS-2352P is a managed layer-2 switch with 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports and four SFP+ ports (1G/10G) for fiber-optic connections. Thanks to power over Ethernet support as per IEEE 802.3af/at on all Ethernet ports (max 370 Watts), separate cabling for connected devices is unnecessary and modern IEEE 802.11ac access points can be supplied directly. Extensive security features including port-based access control as per IEEE 802.1X, TACACS+, SSH, SSL and SNMPv3 make it a rounded security component for modern enterprise networks. It is also ideal for networks established for the processing of payments by credit card and electronic cash (PCI DSS compliance).

With a number of intelligent power-saving features such as the shutdown of unused ports as per IEEE 802.3az, automatic power adjustment, and cable-length detection, the LANCOM GS-2352P consumes significantly less power than comparable models. By fully supporting IPv4 and IPv6, the switch is a future-proof platform offering dual-stack operation for the transitional period.

With 176 Gbps throughput and functions such as Quality of Service, rapid spanning tree, port trunking, bandwidth restriction, minimum latency times and the 10-Gigabit backbone connector, the LANCOM GS-2352P is the ideal switch for networks with the highest bandwidth demands.

Supporting up to 4,000 simultaneous VLANs, the LANCOM GS-2352P provides a basis for efficient network virtualization also in connection with LANCOM access points and routers. Professional port prioritization enables the precise control of data traffic, such as for real-time video or voice applications.

Configuration and management of the switch are performed with a convenient web interface, by command line, with Telnet, or via the serial port (RJ-45). Connections can also be encrypted with SSL, SSH, SNMPv3 or HTTPS. Furthermore, the device integrates seamlessly into the LANCOM management tools LANconfig, LANmonitor and the LANCOM Large Scale Monitor (LSM), and it supports SNPv2 management thanks to its integrated MIB.

The LANCOM GS-2352P is available now for EURO 1,999 (suggested retail price excluding VAT) and comes with a 5-year warranty. The optional 10G-SFP-SX module LANCOM SFP-SX-LC10 is available for EURO 499.00 plus VAT, the 1G version LANCOM SFP-SX-LC1 for EURO 139.00 plus VAT, and the LX version LANCOM SFP-LX-LC1 (1G) for EURO 239.00 plus VAT.
