Aachen, August 20, 2019—Network infrastructure supplier LANCOM Systems is expanding their enterprise WLAN portfolio with an all-rounder that operates a variety of wireless technologies in parallel. The LANCOM LN-1700UE combines Gigabit Wi-Fi with Wireless ePaper support and USB. As well as supporting high-speed enterprise wireless LAN networks, it also lays the foundation for implementing modern digital signage and Internet-of-Things solutions.

With two wireless LAN radio modules (Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4), the enterprise access point provides fast Wi-Fi to devices in the 2.4-GHz band and in the 5-GHz band. Multi-user MIMO allows the LANCOM LN-1700UE to distribute all of the available spatial streams to multiple Wi-Fi 5 clients simultaneously, which makes it ideal for high-density environments. The available bandwidth is used efficiently and delays in the wireless network are substantially reduced. Peak data rates for this access point are up to 1733 Mbps.

Modern digital signage with Wireless ePaper

In addition to Wi-Fi, the LANCOM LN-1700UE has a permanently integrated radio module for controlling LANCOM Wireless ePaper Displays, and all of this operates in parallel and interference-free thanks to the patented technology. By way of example, the LANCOM Wireless ePaper Displays operate as digital room signage in office buildings and conference centers, as electronic shelf labels in retail stores, or for the paperless optimization of processes in healthcare, industry and manufacturing. The integrated USB port enables further wireless IoT applications in the future.

Optionally operated via SDN & Cloud

Like all current LANCOM access points, the LN-1700UE offers maximum versatility in operation: It operates either standalone, with WLAN Controllers, or even managed by the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC). The LMC is the world's first hyper-integrated network management solution on the market. It enables the highly automated installation of even the most complex networking infrastructures by means of software-defined networking (SD-WAN, SD-LAN, SD-WLAN, SD-SECURITY).

Maximum Wi-Fi security is ensured by comprehensive security features such as WPA3-Personal, IEEE 802.1X (WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise), and IEEE 802.11i with WPA2 and AES encryption. Furthermore, the access point supports virtualization features such as multi-SSID and VLAN. Power is supplied optionally by PoE (IEEE 802 3at) or a power supply unit. The USB port is placed in an internal cable duct to protect the radio modules from theft.

The LANCOM LN-1700UE is available now at a price of EUR 899 excluding VAT.
