Aachen, September 26, 2022—LANCOM Systems presents further innovative developments of its network and security solutions alongside its sister company Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity from October 25 to 27 at it-sa (Hall 7A, Booth 306 ) in Nuremberg, Germany. The focus at the trade fair is on state-of-the-art cloud-managed security and the extended functionality of the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls, which combine SD-WAN and security into a lean one-box solution. LANCOM also provides a first glimpse of its future Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solution for the secure connection of home and mobile office workstations.

The increasing number of cyber attacks is constantly presenting companies with new challenges. At the same time, the transformation towards decentralized structures, mobile working and the cloud requires new approaches for flexible and secure access to corporate networks and applications. At this year's it-sa, LANCOM Systems shows the combination of agile networking and network security and how companies can successfully master the digital transformation with the help of trusted, digitally sovereign solutions made in Germany.

Cloud-managed security for maximum usability

The LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewall portfolio offers state-of-the-art Unified Threat Management (UTM) for reliable, cloud-managed network and data protection: Even the most complex security policies can be implemented with just a few mouse clicks using the LANCOM Management Cloud (LMC) as the central administration terminal. The LMC takes care of the time-consuming, manual and often error-prone firewall configuration. The configurations of the content filter and anti-malware features are also controlled centrally and automatically applied to all LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls. Advanced application management provides additional usability and control.

One-box solution: Unified Firewalls with SD-WAN functionality

At the same time, the LANCOM Management Cloud handles SD-WAN features such as the automatic setup of VPN connections and network virtualization. This successively converts networks into zero-trust architectures with separate security zones and access rights for each application. This prevents a core threat; the unhindered, cross-server spread of cyber attacks such as ransomware attacks based on lateral movement. The result is that the LANCOM R&S®Unified Firewalls are a lean one-box solution for security and networking: Simple, remote, operable at multiple sites, and GDPR-compliant thanks to a management cloud hosted in Germany. LANCOM is thus significantly simplifying the everyday work for frequently overworked system administrators in medium-sized companies.

ZTNA client for secure connection of home and mobile offices

At it-sa, LANCOM for the first time presents its future ZTNA solution. The core is a cloud-managed zero-trust client that offers automatic startup, endpoint security, application-based access control, central user management, and single sign-on for external cloud applications. This enables secure and scalable remote access for employees in the home and mobile office, ranging from the smallest of installations to tens of thousands of workstations.

Everything from a single source

LANCOM takes advantage of the LANCOM Management Cloud as a highly integrated network management solution: The future ZTNA solution, the firewalls, and also the manufacturer's entire networking portfolio—i.e. routers, switches, and access points—can all be managed via the LMC as a uniform, intuitively operated cloud-management system hosted in Germany.

Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity

At the joint booth, the sister company Rohde & Schwarz Cybersecurity will be showing, among other things, its new R&S®SITLine ETH-XL network encryptor. This is the first network encryptor to offer 2 x 100 Gbps. The company also presents the compact Ethernet encryptor R&S SITLine ETH S with up to 10 Gbps, as well as the VS workstation based on the R&S Trusted Endpoint Suite to process classified information, which has been approved by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) for the classification level “VS-NfD/RESTRICTED”.
