Aachen, November 28, 2022—The German network-infrastructure and security-solution supplier LANCOM Systems presents its new SD WAN central-site gateway LANCOM ISG-5000. The Integrated Services Gateway is the secure, scalable, and efficient basis for medium-sized multi-service IP networks. It connects the company headquarters to up to 1,000 sites via highly secure IPsec VPN. When combined with the LANCOM Management Cloud, the ISG-5000 becomes a powerful SD-WAN gateway that dynamically networks mid sized infrastructures.

This newly developed gateway uses state-of-the-art encryption and redundancy, and it offers the latest generation of High Scalability VPN (HSVPN) SD-WAN technology. Out of the box the LANCOM ISG-5000 supports 100 VPN remote sites, with additional options providing connectivity to a total of up to 1,000 VPN remote sites.

From fiber-optic to Ethernet and USB ports: At the heart of the network, this integrated services gateway featuring six Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB ports, and an RJ45 config port enables a wide range of applications. Its two SFP+ ports, each offering 10 Gigabits, increase the capacity of data transfers to servers, network storage devices, and switches. The gateway can also be upgraded with options to include additional features such as hotspots, a content filter, or clustering.

High-performance SD-WAN reduces complexity and costs

In combination with the LANCOM Management Cloud, the LANCOM ISG-5000 becomes the basis for powerful SD-WAN infrastructures. Advantages come with the highly automated configuration of the entire network and the automatic rollout of the device configurations to all sites. In this way, even complex network infrastructures can be implemented in an agile, economical manner that also offers reliable 24/7 monitoring. This saves up to 80 percent of the time to set up and manage a complex WAN. By replacing or supplementing cost-intensive MPLS lines, significant cost savings are an additional benefit.

High Scalability VPN for maximum efficiency and service continuity

In high-performance networks that operate many services and move large volumes of data, the next-generation SD-WAN technology High Scalability VPN provides VPN architectures with maximum scalability and efficiency. Previously, each individual application needed its own individual VPN tunnel, whereas HSVPN now bundles any number of networks into a single tunnel for transporting the data to the remote site. Networks remain secure and strictly separated from one another. With the significantly reduced number of VPN remotes, recovery times in the event of a failover are cut to a minimum.

Security Made in Germany

The LANCOM ISG-5000 is part of the LANCOM portfolio for highly secure VPN site connectivity developed and manufactured in Germany. The LANCOM Management Cloud is hosted at data centers located there. As a holder of the “IT Security made in Germany” trust mark, LANCOM is committed to keeping its products free of secret backdoors. This makes LANCOM network solutions ideal for situations where the demands on IT security and data protection are highest and at all times in accordance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

The LANCOM ISG-5000 is available now at a price of EUR 4,790 (RRP) excluding VAT.
