Wireless LAN

WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) refers to a local wireless network, but it is often taken to be wireless Internet access. Over time, different frequency bands and channel widths have been standardized, and today it is common to transmit with 2.4 or 5 GHz using the IEEE 802.11 standards. Radio band specifications include 802.11n and 802.11ac Wave 2, for example.
